About the role

The Manufacturing Automation Engineer at Westmag will develop and implement innovative automation solutions to enhance the efficiency and quality of our drone motor and robot actuator manufacturing processes. You will work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to design, install, and maintain automated systems that scale production capacity while ensuring product excellence.

What you'll own

  • Design and develop automation solutions for manufacturing processes including assembly, testing, and quality assurance.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement to increase throughput and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust controls and monitoring systems.

  • Install, debug, and maintain automated equipment and robotics on the production floor.

  • Develop documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for automated processes.

  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing automation.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years experience in manufacturing automation, robotics, or controls engineering.

  • Proficiency with PLC programming, industrial control systems, and automation software.

  • Experience with robotic systems integration and machine vision preferred.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills to document and present technical information.

  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments, preferably in drone or robotics industries.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance related to manufacturing automation.

  • Familiarity with industry 4.0 technologies and IoT integration in manufacturing.
